International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women – 25 November

In 1999, the UN General Assembly designated 25 November as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is an occasion for governments, international organizations and non-governmental organizations to raise public awareness on violence against women.

This campaign reminds us that violence against women and girls remains a serious problem since it is one of the most widespread human rights abuses in all countries. Therefore, individuals, organizations and institutions across the world are being called on to organize awareness campaigns to fight stereotypes and put an end to violence against women.
